Single and sorry
Reading the many negative reports about the
present edition of the company which is really not to be confused with the "old" Shearings I travelled with for nearly 50 years.I am not surprised that folks are angry though to be fair,problems can happen with the best of companies, though not on Shearing's scale. Money owed as refund was not paid to me when this present company took over, so I lost out.Not only this but they immediately hiked prices, adding exras like cutting out certain pickup points and charging extra for others Front seats for the disabled? Though the former Shearings had greedimy charged £10 extra per person, this present lot upped the price to £15 and I may be wrong but was that charged increased to £20?.Browsing the present brochure I spotted a holiday which I read the details of £559 cheapest price then a whacking £229 SINGLE surchage for the equivalent of a broom closet. (Yes, honesly)Add on fares to get to the pickup point, kennel fees for the dog and a bill of close to£1000 stares you in the face but that is nothing to Shearings despite the fact that up to 60% of their business is dependent on pensioners and those singletons who did not ask to be single and who are fed up of this blatant discrimination.I have found a firm which does not charge a single supplement and will also provide single occupancy of a double.One final observation: if you find a price increase which is blamed on the hotel, ring the hotel you may be surprised at the answer

Trust Shearings to get it right
We had a great coach and a duo of drivers and because the P&O ferry was full we were redirected to a DFDS ferry where we received a free meal voucher for any inconvenience.
Upon arrival, we found a modern, warm and welcoming hotel with great bedrooms and tasty food.
The excursions were excellent.....very well done!

Like to give a big ??up to Molly who helped resolve an issue we had re supplements added to our upcoming holiday! Molly went the extra mile to get to the bottom of the issue and after discussions with management offered us a discount! Thank You Molly much appreciated ????

My husband and I booked a holiday last…
My husband and I booked a holiday last December for this June 2023. We paid the deposit and in January I got an email to say is was changing to 1st July, to which I replied that it was fine. However when I tried to book travel insurance, I was checking the details and discovered that not only had the date changed but it was a completely different holiday and destination. I phoned up and was told it was my fault for not checking the details, even the reference number and title were very similar, so we are now losing our £150 deposit and we are not happy. Many years ago we used Shearings and enjoyed some lovely holidays, now they don’t care, and we thought we would try there European trips again, but not now. We even went on a British trip last year, taking 12 hours to get from Eastbourne to Torquay a 4-5 hour trip and they never answered my email about that holiday.
